Ugh... weired. GISWxprint and GISWxprintglue use different versions of
the Xprt server which generate different output... if _both_ fail then
something very substancial is going wrong... ;-(

Do you use Solaris's native spooler or did you install CUPS ?

Does it help when you edit
/opt/GISWxprint/server/etc/XpConfig/C/print/attributes/document
(s/GISWxprint/GISWxprintglue/ if you use the GISWxprintglue package) and
replace
-- snip --
*default-printer-resolution: 300
-- snip --
with
-- snip --
*default-printer-resolution: 600
-- snip --
?
