I was using GISWxprint bevor I changed from 300 to 600 dpi (as you
told me) - then I tried GISWxprintglue (with 600) and now I went
back to GISWxprint with 600 dpi - AND IT WORKS! (ok, it prints one
extra empty page, but I can live with that ;-)
