This problem will return again and again regardless of the FAQ, because
most users will never even know the existence of the FAQ (especially
when Xprint starts to be shipped with Linux distros by default).

This guy's printing system (CUPS) already supplies the needed info about
the printer's parameters (the cupsGetPPD() function), and Xprint _could_
extract that information in addition to model configs. I can see in
practice that almost all Xprint users use the deafult, one-size-fits-all
model-config, and even though I know how to change mine, I don't do that
because it:

    * printer -> model-config map sits in a very strange location as for
      a config file
      (/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xserver/C/print/attributes/printer in my case)
and is likely to be wiped out with next system upgrade
    * i already have the needed information on my system (in the CUPS)
and I believe that I shouldn't have to create redundant
information WRT printers on my system

The only proper solution is to make Xprint use CUPS information if it is
available to supplement the model-config info. The CUPS information
should override any model-config settings as it is most probably always
more accurate.

The bug about this is in Bugzilla:
http://bugzilla.mozdev.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5355

If I just had the skill and internal knowledge of Xprint needed to fix
it... Which unfortunately I don't.
